Granted with my colt lower I don’t see how its possible.
My mag well stops it from going up.

It's not the magwell, it's my hand. If I put my support hand on the magwell, I pop the lever. Not an issue if using the handguard.

I don't think it's a design flaw, so much as something to be aware of.

No, he’s saying that the magwell prevents the lever from going up on his 6920. Is yours somehow able to clear the front of the magwell? I’ll have to take a look at mine when I get home, but I don’t hold the rifle that way.

Gotcha. I'll take a look when I get off work. The lever doesn't go all the way up, but it does pop up enough, apparently, to cause issues.

    BCM lower, FWIW.

Update: so the lever is blocked by the magwell, as per the above picture. However, when I use the magwell as a hand rest, my hand is able to push the lever enough to clear the lip of the magwell, inducing the FTF.

Mine clears with some wiggling on my part but why would I want it in the up position while the mag is in the gun????????

I do. Most of my ARs have Mako magwell grips, except for my 5.56 carbine & pistol, because the D60 drum won't clear the magwell grip.

My carbine has the winter trigger guard so I can run the Ergo grip that's just a piece of rubber that slips around the magwell but doesn't hang below it.

The D60 fits fine in all my RRA, PSA & Anderson lowers but it's such a close fit any lower that's not 'milspec' like those with a flared magwell probably won't fit. I was looking at adding an aftermarket flared magwell to my 5.56 carbine til I remembered it wouldn't work with the drum.

You don't thing we all use that silly "over the top" c-grip, do you?

I don't routinely use the magwell as a grip, but it happens on my SBRs.
