Anyone know what make ammo this is?

    Hey all
Just picked up my brand new Springfield SOCOM 16 QCB. This is my second M1A but I sold my last one. Love how it looks and feels but won’t shoot till next week. Anyway, my LGS has bulk 7.62x51 ammo 250 in an ammo box. I grabbed one but didn’t think to ask what make it was. I see the NATO stamp on it and I think the primers are crimped. Can anyone make anything of this? It says CBC 12 with a Nato stamp.

I believe that it is Brazilian surplus. Not 100%, but I believe that it is.

CBC ammo group is Magtech, CBC, Sellier & Bellot and MEN, good quality ammo should be fine for a M1A.

Sweet, thank you. I paid $200 for 250 rounds. Most .308 goes for about $20-$21 a box of 20 here.

That's definitely on the pricey side. I typically pay around 50 cents per round at sgamm.com, check them out. There's some Malaysian surplus available now for 37 cents per round.

I’m going to try ordering online next. I just got the box to grab ammo ASAP for the gun. Unfortunately even when I order ammo I have to send it to an FFL as well.

Wow. Beyond ridiculous. Time to move to a free state brother.
