How are people doing the NFA engraving on an M&P 15/22 (or any polymer receiver)...

Given that the receiver is polymer, how are people accomplishing the required NFA engraving for a Form 1 SBR on an M&P 15/22?

Well, for one thing...there's nothing in the statutes that says it can't be in polymer.

For mine, I took a Dremel and freehanded it on the front of the magwell. It ain't pretty, but it meets the requirements and cost me nothing except a little electricity.

Laser engraving works well on polymer, you just have to crank the power way back.

Yep. THSF does them all the time. I've watched them engrave a few. M&P 15-22s, Scorpions, etc.

@TED...they happen to be my local dealer (and some of my items are his sample pics), but people from all over the US ship them stuff. It's usually back out the door in <48 hours.

They're the rare combination of price, quality and speed...usually you have to pick two of those.
