Laser engraving works well on polymer, you just have to crank the power way back.

@TED...they happen to be my local dealer (and some of my items are his sample pics), but people from all over the US ship them stuff. It's usually back out the door in <48 hours.
They're the rare combination of price, quality and speed...usually you have to pick two of those.
I've engraved polymer with a Carbide tipped vibrating type engraver also, just gotta turn the pressure back.
