To be fair, the Moros would get hopped up on hashish and tourniquet their limbs before battle when they could. If I remember right, they also would eat multiple .30-40 Krag rounds before dropping.

This may be the best way to go. ^^^^ I've seen two people who were shot with snub nose revolvers loaded with the 158g LRN and that is not an adequate number to judge performance.

I think the issue with less powerful pistol rounds like .38 S&W Long is one of penetration through cover and the rudimentary armor the Moro's fashioned to themselves.

Soft, slow round bullets don't help.

.38 special has always done poorly against penetration things, too. Especially with slow, round nosed bullets fired from short barrels.

But against a lightly clothed person/people I'm comfortable down to a fast-handling .32 in a medium sized handgun.

Wasn't this load jokingly referred to as the Widowmaker?

Not because it made the bad guy's wife a widow, either....

“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Looked like a fun afternoon of informal testing and I enjoyed watching it, thanks.
