I like the felt recoil with it.

Forgot to add; I have a separate .38 Super upper I use with the frame.

Do you run the same recoil spring with the Super?

    No.
The Super runs a 14 or 15#, depending on ammo.

I'm a big time Wilson fan, but some of their stuff is marketing fluff.
Would you think that if you changed springs, ran a couple Hundred rounds through it, that it ran fine.

would you be comfortable that the gun accepts the new fangled Springs ??

I would, but I still wouldn't think they were an improvement in any way and it's far from a new-fangled concept. Some match guys were doing that since the late '90s, it's just a Glock 17 recoil spring. It was a fad for a few years, but didn't actually help anything and could cause issues. It died off to be forgotten for a couple of decades, then Wilson rolls it out as something new.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you,
but it's still on my list.

I am glad I stumbled on this thread. I bought a used WC standard CQB a month or 2 ago. No idea on recoil spring or main spring weight. When I rack the slide, it’s fairly tough to pull back. I have some some other 1911s (Colt S80 SS, SCG, M45A1, DE in 10mm) so this thread is gold. I have quite a few recoil springs on hand...different weights. I am tempted to start over fresh with all of my 1911s with the heavy MS light RS set up but am a little hesitant. I’ll add another variable.....about to reload a couple thousand .45 rounds. Ideally, a nice 230gr RN training round and a nice 230gr defensive load is the goal. Lol, I know...rabbit hole here we go. Thanks for the discussion.
