Damn, the more I read up on this kid it seems like his life was the perfect template for how to create a mass murderer.

While it certainly wouldn’t come close to solving all our problems, if the media was banned from publishing the murderers name, picture, and other details I bet we would see a decrease in these shootings. They want two things, fame and to create destruction. Taking away their chance at fame is unfortunately easier to do than changing their destructive desires but both approaches should be attempted imo.

I do not think it would have any effect at all. The idea people murder dozens to have their name mentioned in the paper is preposterous. This killer fled the scene, he obviously did not want to get caught and publicized or he would have stayed their and fought to death or killed himself. Not sure where this theory comes from, I cannot think of a MM where the perp was clearly saying "look at me". If they did, they would make every effort to stay alive, get caught and then spend years talking to media, writing books, etc.

It absolutely is a factor. Talk to any psychologist who studies these people and then go read about suicide clusters and the media

Of course... with more meds being thrown around like skittles the shootings will continue and everyone will collectively still miss the big picture!

Fix the parents. Fix the family unit. Eliminate this false notion everyone is a victim of everything. Bring back discipline. Bring back playing outside as a kid. Bring back the Pledge and Patriotism. BRING BACK PRAYER AND GOD.
