1911 Fever is eating me alive

I was perusing 1911's on Gunbroker and found a SS TRP with 100 rounds down the pipe, $999.00

So..I am the new owner of the beloved TRP, I have a black one for over 10 years, and its awesome. I remember they have that goofy guide rod with a key....

What all do I need to buy to make the TRP "normal" . Plug, Guide rod..???

Anyone familiar what I'm talking about, please hit me up.

I would probably just buy the flat wire combo from Wilson Combat. Should have this spring, plug, and guide.

With the 1911's you post pics of, I don't know if you can claim to be broke!

Bought the base 3 years ago. Got the first iteration done 2 1/2 years ago. 2nd iteration a year ago after literally borrowing the money and selling stuff. I only have one 1911 now for a long time. So...I think I can say I’m broke.

    PB-

Get a GI guide rod, standard recoil spring plug and throw the FL guide rod set out.
A 16# recoil spring was JMBs original design and what I use (with 21# MS).
I’m also a fan of a flat bottom firing pin stop (which was also original design).
EGW is where I shop 1911 parts.

Definitely a good choice dumping the flgr. Throw up some pics when you get a chance.
