The whole GFSZ thing has not teeth and there have been very few convictions. Members of congress were trying to do away with it this summer, but it went nowhere and I doubt it will.

Pretty much aware of that already.

Generally correct. LTC guns are exempt. All others are not. There is NO LEOSA exemption, not an out-of-state exemption.

I would estimate this law is violated millions of times a day. I myself drive within 1000 feet of 3 different schools just about every time I leave my home. That is 6 felonies a day for me if I have a gun in my car. You take a pro-gun state like Texas that does not require guns in cars be lock, unloaded, etc, and it is easy to see how often it might be violated.
Oddly, the Colorado CCW law, IIRC, specifically talks about how you can have a gun in a car ON school property. Maybe the CCW license gives enough cover for it.

I'm really starting to appreciate more the Progressives strategy of passing laws and not ever enforcing them. I don't know if it is part of some nefarious plan- selectively enforce this specific law to shut up guns rights people- or if it just fits into their overall 'something/anything' and move on strategy.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

It's part of their Sword of Damocles strategy, how they hang Three Felonies a Day over everyone so that once a person becomes an Enemy of the Glorious Progressive Stalinist Revolution... well, Stalin said it best himself: "Show me the person, and I'll show you the crime."

Then there are bragging rights when you go back home to get re-elected again.
Even if the Law has no effect, it looks good on paper and people back home feel like you achieved something for them.
We've left logic, facts and the Constitution behind. The only things that matter are feelings and sound bites.
Putting real security measures inside schools is the only logical way to fix this.

Isn't that the damn truth? Whenever I hear the term RINO, I automatically think of him being the poster child.

Besides both Bushes being turds, crazy uncle Joe is the man who made schools soft targets. Everyone wants to blame guns, psychotropics, video games, etc. IMO this bill crazy uncle Joe introduced is what opened the pandora’s Box, now the it’s a game of copy cat to see who can become more infamous.

Kasich is the new face of RINOs. I don't know where that boy's head is lately. Got a bad case of Trump Hate going. I used to be a fan of his, but he has gone full stupid lately.

It boggles my mind how anyone actually likes Kasich (minus liberal Democrats). He may have recently pushed through some pro 2a legislation in good times in OH as he postured to become president, but I never forgot the fact he was a major proponent of the ‘93 Federal AWB (he was actually a key vote). I never trusted him, I found his positions to be shitty and I didn’t like his snobby attitude in the dash cam video where he was very condescending to an Ohio State Trooper writing him a citation, I thought that was very revealing.
