Graham wasn't a TV evangelist, he was a man who loved Jesus and his fellow man. The limelight sought him, he didn't seek the limelight. He was earnestly concerned for the spiritual fate of others, and sought to plant the seeds of faith in Jesus Christ into the hearts of those he preached to. To my knowledge, I don't believe he ever asked for money.

If you're a brother or sister in Christ then you should be celebrating right now because our brother is at home in heaven with our Lord and Savior.

Graham was the exact opposite of the people you are probably thinking of, like that rich guy in TX.
He was a great person, and Christian, and helped bring my parents to Christ.

You know, if Bill had lived around the time of the birth of this nation, he would have been a forefather to this country. He would have most likely counseled our earliest leaders and maybe even signed our Declaration of Independence. He was truly a man to be admired for his integrity, values, morals and character. He was a gifted man and touched the lives of over 100 million people.

The great hope is those who follow Christ is in the resurrection where we will all be reunited with our loved ones and dwell with God for eternity, so this is not goodbye, but more like see you later". When my dad died a few months ago, my pastor reminded me that dying was simply passing from this world into the next and that as we take our last breath, we see the hand of Jesus reaching out to us to bring us home.

Well said. And this is one of my favorite Billy Graham quotes:

"Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of the Lord."

I think the thing that made me respect him the most is that he wasn't all high and mighty.

He didn't look down on people as if he were better than them because he knew he wasn't even though people elevated him to a celebrity status.

A female TV reporter asked him one time in an interview how he kept himself from temptation and he answered that he never allows himself to be alone in the presence of a woman that he is not related to. Essentially admitting that even he is tempted by the flesh. Another one was when he was staying at a luxury hotel on one of his crusades and requested that his room not have a television set. When the hotel manager escorted Billy and his entourage to his VIP suite Billy noticed that there was a TV in the main room and without hesitation went straight over to it and ripped the cord out of the wall and carried the set over to the manager where he calmly stated that he would pay for the damages.
