Who's making 11.5 complete uppers other than BCM?

I'm in the market for a upper for a lower I'm in the process of SBRing. This is going to be my first rifle that isn't 16'

It seems everyone is favoring the 11.5 over the 10.5. It makes sence why after reading BCMs write up.

I can't seem to find anyone other than BCM and KAC making 11.5 uppers. Is 11.5 inch barrels a newer thing? Is it just good marketing? Forgive my ignorance to the SBR thing.
I know I can put something together, I'd rather just have something complete this time.

For what it's worth the uppers I've been looking at are not all 11.5.
    Uppers I've been looking at

    BCM 11.5 Mlok
    LMT MRP Mlok 10.5
    LMT Mk18 + MK8 rail

Am I looking is the right direction?

Sionics has some. I built my upper myself, but I really like the reduced gas port barrel. I don't have my can yet, but it runs everything I've fed it perfectly unsuppressed so far.

Daniel defense, Colt, and as you stated KAC. I personally love my 11.5 Colt and BCM, and my 10.5 LMT. 11.5 barrels are not a new phenomenon. But they do seem to be more popular these days. And the only reason I have my 10.5 LMT, is because it was a deal just too good to pass up haha.

I didn't even think of Colt. Quick Google search shows the 6933 upper. I guess availability is another concern.

I plan on getting a suppressor soon down the road, how much of a concern is that in buying an upper? I see a ton of talk about port size.

    • LMT has an 11.5" MRP barrel.
    • PWS, though that's a long-stroke piston and not DI.
    • Windham Weaponry
    • Sons of Liberty Gun Works
    • Stag Arms
    • Daniel Defense

I'm sure there's plenty others, of varying quality (just like the names on my list).

Gas port sizes vary widely. BCM would not tell me their gas port size (lol). LMT stated theirs was .083, and Colt, I believe, varies on which barrel you get also, but my 11.5 heavy barrel is supposed to be ported at .069, but I don’t have pin gauges. Haven’t ran my suppressor (SF RC2) on the LMT, but it’s pretty good on the BCM (little gas to the face w/ the RC2). The Colt is probably best, in my experience.

My 3 favorite 11.5in uppers are KAC, Sionics RGP 11.5, and my bcm with a brt gas block. You can't go wrong with any of those options. I will say the sionics is the best performer in the value category for what you get however.

I'm currently debating this same thing. I already have a Noveske MUR stripped upper/Noveske BCG/Noveske CH laying around so I think I'm going to buy a 11.5 Noveske barrel and Geissele 9.5" MK4. Slep those all together for a pretty good upper.
