I would but I had a rough interaction with them in the past over an SR15. They made it right but in the end I realized I couldn't fix the issue myself. As it would be my only SBR upper I don't want to do that over again.

How much of a concern is the post size really? I don't want something that is going to be potentially problematic. That's kind of why I don't want to build an upper this time around.

Take a hard look at SIONICS.

Iraqgunz - how is the V2 handguard listed with this upper different from the V1 handguard shown elsewhere on the Sionics site? There's no pic, and no mention of a V2 handguard other than on complete URGs.

I really like the idea of being able to get a complete Sionics upper with the RGP barrel included.

I am building a new 11.5" upper with Sionics components, including their 11.5" reduced gas port barrel. I already have a BCM 11.5" and if I had the funds, I would pick up a Knights CQB Mod2 upper or complete gun.

I just received the Stamp for my Sionics 11.5" complete rifle. I fired 150 rds and it was slick, love the feel and it shoots smooth. I would recommend based on my short experience with my sample of one (so take that FWIW).

I got the medium profile barrel. I did not get the suppressor optimized port size version they offered when I spoke to them on the phone because I don't know when I'll be able to do a can for it.

Wrote Sionics an email about the V2 handguard - this was their response:

"Please note the only difference is a slight aesthetic and weight change. The V-2 is 2 oz. lighter as we eliminated the M-LOK Slots in the 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock positions. We will post a photo early next week."

By suppressor optimized so you mean the reduced gas port or one that was suppressor only?

I haven't had any issues with my RGP barrel unsuppressed. Using an H buffer it has cycled everything and even locks back on the last round with underpowered steel case stuff.

I do think I saw something at one point about a suppressor only barrel, but I don't know if those were ever available. I wouldn't expect good results unsuppressed from that one unsuppressed.

Yes I meant the reduced gas port. I know not of any suppressor only option. Good to hear you are having good results unsupressed with the RGP. I took their advice based on our conversation and went with the standard gas port. I'm very pleased now with the H2 buffer it came with. If/when I ever suppress it we will see what it's like.

I actually didn't expect the RGP barrel to run this well unsuppressed, but I knew I'd suppress it eventually. Hopefully in a few months...

I don't think you can go wrong with Sionics. I'm planning on picking up one of their premium 18" barrels in the next few weeks.
