Looks like they may have a winner here. Yes its new, yes it has to be proven on the street, yes Federal still has HST. With that out of the way, discuss....

Appears to penetrate deeper than their standard 9mm HST offerings. Perhaps better for barriers? Time will tell. Most companies offer various lines of SD/Duty ammo so it's not really all that unheard of.

I don't see it that way at all.

Hornady offers Critical defense and critical duty. Federal has HydraShok and HST, Speer has Gold dot and Gold Dot G2. Every company does it. I don't think Federal would have sank the time and money into developing a round if they didn't see a purpose.

How do we know this isn't better than HST?

What does it do that HST doesn't? Well from what I can see, penetrate deeper. Which is in the damn product name.

It could end up being a flop, but I am not so dense as to say there isn't a point to it.

It’s gonna be the new big box store defensive ammo from Federal. Thats really about it. Serious users will still seek out HST.
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand
