I was looking at the hk sp5k but ruled it out because I can’t use a suppressor. I specifically bought a 3 lug suppressor for this.

I guess the zienth it is. Only bad thing I’ve seen about them is the 3 lug barrel wasn’t machined correctly and a guy’s suppressor kept coming loose. He sent it back and they fixed it.

So what’s with the fbi, navy, and other fire controls?
I would like an ambi safety since I’m left handed.

Any one I should get to sbr? Reverse stretch? No local gun shops have any so it’s hard it imagine how they will fit in my hand and on my shoulder. I’m just unsure which one will be the most ergo friendly.

An Omega clone sounds like it might be an option.

In exchange for your dignity, you'll get a clone that's cheaper than the others, is mostly US made, and will probably work. For an added bonus, they are available now, unlike the PTR or PSA clones.

Another vote for the Zenith. I have the mp5k clone sbr'd and it runs like a sewing machine. Nice trigger too.

You can get a B&T tri-lug barrel from HK Parts and have it along with a paddle release installed onto your SP5K.

That would be pretty expensive to do, also I'd have a hard time pulling a HK barrel just to get a 3 lug option. I think I'd rather send it to S&H or RDTS and have an integral SD built onto a SP5k if I was going to go through all that effort.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

If you are looking at getting an ambi lower then the sp5k might be something to consider as those lowers are not cheap. Adding a paddle mag release is under 100 bucks using mostly us parts or like 130 for mostly german.

You do need to have the barrel swapped but that can be done without refinishing the gun. It will end up costing more than the zenith but it will be a better product and be more collectible.

Yep, I’ve was following that thread when you started it. That’s what made me want one even more. I guess you’re the “asshole” that’s making me spend some money. Lol. I’ve always wanted a mp5. But that’s a good thread. Thanks.

Anytime I convert someone to St. McClane and the church of Roller Locked Goodness, I'm on it like Oprah on a glazed ham.

My advice is just find a good quality MP5 (MKE, POF, Dakota), test fire it and inspect it, and send it off for you Form 1- then while you wait you'll have plenty of time to stock up on mags (right now POF's are around and built like tanks) and worry about accessories. God knows what's on the horizon- imported guns could dry up, stuff gets banned etc etc... but once you have an SBR'd MP5 you'll be the happiest kid on the block. It's stupid fun and practical to shoot, plus it's wicked sexy. It's not cheap, but I have zero regrets, and it goes out with me to every range trip. Every shooter loves it, from novice new shooters to dudes that have opened more skulls than a brain surgeon.

I guess my only other question is should I get a rifle zenith and when I get the stamp back chop the barrel then send it off and have it re crowned and a 3 lug put on. Didn’t know if that’s easier and a better way to get around the 922 r.
