That is what I have on mine, but I think no matter what you do, the lure of more magnification will always be powerful.

Great to know you are a pro cuz that is one heck of a pic! I agree that the more we ask of our rifles the greater our wants for increased magnification and clarity. It all comes at a price.

My first choice would be the NightForce 2.5-10. That would be a fantastic scope to get you out pretty darn far with a SCAR Heavy. I think that scope checks a lot of boxes, for what I would want. Good mag range, super durable, usable bottom end. If you really want to go up in power, the ATACR 4-16 would certainly be up to the task. Between those 2, I think it’s just a choice of what power you want.

Ive been running an ACOG TA55 on mine, on a Larue mount. No complaints and hits out to 500 are no problem.

I've been running a Leupold Mark 8 - CQBSS for several years without issue.

The NightForce 2.5-10x24 (the new limited production model) is what I currently have on mine, along with offset KAC sights.

I have used several Leupold 1-4s (not enough mag, but very lightweight), an IOR 1.5-8x (great glass, magnification, but too heavy) before getting to the NF.

For me the sweet spot in weight is an optic less than 20 oz - anything more and I find that the rifle gets very top heavy and wants to lean when making lateral transitions - IMO this is due to the high top rail and higher center of gravity caused by the polymer lower construction.

I think I would be happy with a 1-8x optic. I may try the NX-8, since it's light enough. I just need to save up some money to give it a try.

One of my good friends bought this weapon and did a great deal of research. As was posted, there are very few optics that can handle the recoil. It's a sharp recoil that destroys optics. It would chew that Nikon up in a day or two.

ACOG or Nightforce ..my buddy went with Elcan Spectar. You might be surprised how far you can shoot a 4X optic. Do your research on your choice before you buy. And specifically your gun with that optic.

That Trij or NF 1-8 would be seem pretty sweet if you can afford. My buddy also bought the 13.5 barrel and I ran it CQB style, it rattled my jaw pretty good.

I am partial to HK’s and FN’s. I have to say that this is absolutely one of my favorite photos you have posted. I had been keeping up with this thread because I recently bout a SCAR 17s too. Thanks for posting Stickman!
