Nobody does that stuff anymore. That’s like so Cold War. The 80s called and they want their gear back. ;-)

Hahaha yeah. Ill take my chances in the forrest over the city any day. I had the Eagle H harness with split front and as tough as it was, the shoulders straps were to close to each other and dug into my neck bad.

I have 4 base vests / rigs and narrowed it down to 2, now I am totally tripped up on which will be primary. I have the Tactical Tailor MAV w/ bib, Safariland ECLS , FLC and LBV-88.

The MAV an SPEAR are going in the classifieds as soon as they are open to me. And the LBV-88 and FLC are battling it out for the primary kit.

All you need are some tactical tie-dyes and a frisbee, and you'll be set for a deep retreat... in Schenley Park.

In all fairness.... that's really not a totally far fetched reason.
Much of the current GWOT has revolved around urban areas....a good portion of the population in the US lives in/near urban centers, and everyone wants to ape their favorite MLDK unit... do the math...

Further, unless you have a serious professional need for mission-specifc gear, the modularity of modern gear means that, if the end user puts some thought into their purchases, there' no reason their equipment can't be re-arranged as needed top fit both roles.
I mean... a chest rig is still a chest rig, and a pack is still a pack... the only things to think about beyond that is how much you need to carry and armor options. Maybe a camo scheme.

So to be blunt, I'm not really sure what you were hoping to see here, aside from a more mission-specific level of tactical cosplay....?
