Glock .45 GAP normal width slides?

I know that in general the .45 GAP models have a ticker/wider slide. However I was told somewhere along the way that Glock started making them with regular width slides.

Anyone know if this is true?

I know people love to hate the .45 GAP and I understand and mostly agree (I'd personally rather go with an M&P .45 ACP over a Glock .45 GAP if grip was an issue).

This is just a purely technical curiosity question.

    Thanks.

By "regular width" I assume you mean the same as a 17, 19 or 26. I have a 37 which is slightly wider than "regular" and as far as I know all of the GAP models (37, 38, 39) are that way. I have never come across any that were different. If I try hard I can cram the 37 into a 17 holster, but it's a really tight fit.

I don't believe this is accurate. I think Glock initially planned on the slide being the same width as a 9mm or a 40 S&W slide, but that didn't happen. I was issued a Glock 37 and the slide was the the thickness of a Glock 21 slide.
