I officiated soccer for 24 years (I am 68 years old now) at pretty much most levels (up to semi-pro) and jogged regularly to keep in shape. Now that I am retired from the game (8 years ago) I no longer jog, I took up biking and find it easier on the knee and I bike 30 miles a day 5x a week. Keeps me fit and I get to eat all I want with no weight gain!

Ugh... just took my first AM jog of the summer season. My lower back is achy. I'm going to mix jogging and walking to keep my ass from getting fat again.

Wear and tear on the knees in no bueno! Have you tried a dive brick in a pool? Biking is a good replacement to keep you injury free. Starting back up running after a while off is tough. Listen to your body and change it up to keep it interesting.
