    That looks very very good compared to this morning.

    Kudos, sorry for the adventure; but thank you for being the education I never knew I needed.

    Nonetheless, seems like it would be best to get as much visible rust off (which in my opine you've more than done) and paint it as you see fit. The paint will help avoid corrosion, for sure. At least as long as it's fully de-greased before application and cured for a good amount of time.

    Don't get too excited. The rust will be back. I said it before... Cold blue is worthless. If it is a no $$$ build just paint it. If it's worth the 50 bucks ADCO charges, park it.

    Degrease the parts (simple green or hexanes, mek, acetone all work well), Soak in a weak hcl solution, or coke to get rid of rust, rinse thoroughly in hot water, and paint immediately, or duracoat or something.
