How do you not mar a Magpul Bev block?

I just used this for the first time on a new build, gonna build another next week. How does everyone avoid marring up the bev block? I definitely put some vice prints in mine, would prefer to avoid that in the future.

    I donít worry about it

Assume your talking about vice jaw marks, it doesnít really effect anything you are assembling, so why sweat it?

Thick piece of leather works when I want to protect something in vise.

I have some soft-jaw inserts for my vice. Seem to work well for me.

The only way to not mark up your tools is by not using them.

BTW you're in the wrong forum.

It was between custom build and technical... Since this is the custom build forum might as well list what I built and will show off pics later.

    Lower:

    AXTS (Radian) AX556 Ambi lower
    Geissele SSA
    MAGPUL k2+ FDE
    Radian Talon safety (FDE)
Radian take down & pivot pins (with spring/detects)
vltor A5 7 position buffer tube
    Green Sprinco buffer spring
A5H2, A5H3 & A5H4 buffers (I will test and pick the heaviest buffer to lock back the last round on PMC bronze)
PWS ratcheting castle nut (I love this)
Colt buffer retention spring & detent

    Upper:
    VLTOR MUR
    Geissele Mk8 (DDC)
DD 10.3 CHF CL barrel with DD gas block (pinned)
VSeven extreme condition (or whatever it is called) Inconel gas tube
Surefire 3 prong flash hider (rocksetted, timed and torqued to spec)
    Raptor SD charging handle (FDE)
Magpul MBUS Pro Front and rear iron sights
    KAC sandcutter BCG
    LMT enhanced bolt
    JP enhanced gas ring
    Sprinco ejector spring
    HK416 Firinf pin retaining pin
Lantac smooth cam domed cam pin
Combo of Magpul type 1 & 2 rail M-Lok rail covers
    Magpul MVG (M-Lok vert foregrip)

I will be placing a T-2 with Bobro QD Mount on it along with a Surefire M300C light (Larue QD off set mount) with tape switch and Magpul MLOK switch mount. I also have a Surefire SOCOM RC can dedicated to this build. Iím looking forward to getting this thing zeroed in and seeing how it runs.

Top notch if it runs, itís sort of an experiment.
Obviously a significant change from ďmil-specĒ. Iím building 2 identical rifles, with the goal of shooting the snot out of it with as minimal preventative maintenance as possible on one and keeping round count low on the 2nd for my HD/SHTF rifle. I picked parts that I believed to be a true upgrade or high quality, not to go all Gucci.
