The SCAR was dropped from 8 feet onto hard concrete floor 7 times after it went through countless of other torture tests. The stock survive, the lower and magazine cracked, but overall I bet the rifle is still functional. I say it did pretty damn well in that test.

The original video showed it was pretty much broken but you couldn't really tell where because the video wasn't the best quality. I did see one poster on another board that had his entire rear trunnion start to shift along with the screws backing out just running the rifle suppressed. Maybe was getting to much pressure, so it may not even take a drop to push that bracket out of alignment. Just don't care for the design much at all and feel it could use some upgrades but it's close and they do balance well- at least that was my thoughts on the ones I had.

Does the 17 still wreck optics like back in the day? Or did we find some sights that are ok to use on it?

The truth is, I wish we could design a weapon that was as overall reliable and durable as the AK. The SCAR could be that weapon but not until they upgrade the stock hinge assembly and the rear trunnion mounting system.
