On a second note, NiB, and nitride coatings are not easier to clean in my experience. At the end of the day I still have to scrape carbon off the back of the bolt, just aft of the gas rings, and I still have to scrape carbon from off of the inside of the carrier. I've gotten rid of most of my NiB bcgs, and replaced them with regular phosphate coated units. I find that hard chrome plated bcgs are easier to clean than NiB, and nitride bcgs. YMMV
Winner winner, chicken dinner! Yep, good old fashioned hard chrome is still my first choice. It is easier to clean......bolt tail still requires a little elbow grease but does clean up quicker.

I have yet to try or hear of a coating/treatment that requires a simple wipe-off of the bolt tail (which to me is the "challenge" in cleaning a bolt) but have a Cryptic Coatings Mystic Black complete BCG dipped in EWL and in a gallon zip-lock. Brand new, haven't used it yet but there is a guy on here who has one and swears he can chip the carbon off with his fingernail. Someday I'll find out.......

I thought you weren’t going to sink anymore money into that Ruger. Something about your trigger thread awhile back?

I agree about the PSA, but, as you well know, your line of thinking is not going to get much traction around these parts.
IMHO when guys on here talk about one company making bolts/carriers to different specs depending on what the buyer was requiring, it makes me think Toolcraft sounds like a good example of such a company. Runs the gamut from Mil-spec/cage coded stuff to ones with different coatings and 9310 bolts, etc.

To be sure, I haven't heard anything but good about Toolcraft, though YMMV.

POF Ultimate Bolt Carrier Group & LWRCI DI Bolt Carrier Group. Both are machined from a solid piece of alloy steel, eliminating the need to stake the gas key and deleting the ability for gas key screws to come loose under operation.

Unfortunately I had the same ring eating experience with a PSA premium BCG. PSA replaced it, but still.....

I've had 6920 BCGs that ate rings about every 1000 rounds. Microbest BCGs are incredibly consistent, and what I'd transition over too if need be.

Strange since Colt uses Microbest BCG's for their stuff. They are assembled and staked in house.

I don't know if we've ever had definitive confirmation that Colt outsources their BCG's. I've heard and seen evidence both ways. This particular BCG is not as refined as the BCM Mircro's I've used. Rougher texture to the internal CL portion in which the Bolt reciprocates.

There is no "We've". I know it for a fact. I also know where most of the PSA BCG's come from, and it's not Microbest.

Can you tell us where PSA BCGs come from? Or you have signed a NDA?
