Tomb Raider (Review)

Alicia Vikander is well cast as Lara Croft as a smart, stubborn, tough gal. It's a well done, albeit formulaic movie. Harmless good fun, with some good CGI, but suspension of disbelief must be fully engaged to enjoy, especially when she starts taking out all the well trained armed mercs with her trusty bow and arrow CQB style... B-/C+

Works fine for me. She makes this movie more watchable for sure. She's just terribly cute.

She's a cute looking actress who is up-and-coming. Its nice to see a fresh face on the Tombraider remake.

If you've never seen her in other movies, she does well in Jason Bourne and Ex-machina.

I like Vikander's voice in particular. Watched it with my wife and 10 year old son. He enjoyed it. He's never seen the Jolie tomb raider movies, so he likened this one to Raiders of the Lost Ark/Temple of doom etc.

I didn't see the Jolie version either. Way more Temple of Doom than Raiders of the Lost Ark...one being a classic, the other pretty big let down.

Good, concise review - pretty much what I thought, too, though the first half was a little too slow for something in this genre. Alicia Vikander is stunning and her acting range is seemingly endless.

Watched it this week. Even with my infatuation with Vikander, the best I could give it was 3 (liked but nothing special) out of 5 stars.
I do, however, continue to give Vikander 5 out of 5.
