I do think the scenes with Jeff Goldblum were totally unnecessary. They don't even belong in the movie. He doesn't interact with any part of the story other than to say his lines.

    Still, y'all are just HATERS.

I thought it was a good popcorn movie and I didn't expect much from it. I'd see it again before any of the Star Wars rebooted movies, or any of the super hero movies, for that matter.

Watched last night. Overall a fun movie. Just some parts of the plot that left me wondering why they put those elements in there in the first place because they didn't drive the story. Seriously? A paleo-veterinarian?!! A football bat is more useful.

Lots of parts over the top, still enjoyed the movie.

I spent the last 10 days in Jurassic World... Kauai. Great Island. Best part was swinging off the same rope swing that Harrison Ford did in Raiders of the Lost Ark. But I digress...

    POTENTIAL PLOT SPOILERS!!!

Fallen Kingdom was the same exact plot as the last Jurassic World. The plot and characters were all the same.

Jurassic World: They try to play god and create something over the top, meanwhile some guy wants to militarize the dinosaurs...everyone dies.
Fallen Kingdom: They try to play god again, reboot the the over the top dinosaur into another over the top dinosaur, meanwhile some guy tries to militarize them and sell them off...everyone dies.

Every single "mistake" made in Jurassic world is repeated in "Fallen Kingdom". The characters are now just plug and play: gung-ho military guy, nerdy computer guy, strong independent woman, conniving evil capitalist guy, hero guy (I felt bad for Chris Pratt, he could have done a lot better with a better plot/writing).

Save yourself $10.00 and a smelly seat, just watch Jurassic World again in your living room.

A paleo-veterinarian, who up until she's doing blood transfusions , had never seen a real dinosaur.

It's gaping plot holes like that that make me wait for the DVD rental from Netflix. If they aren't gonna try, neither am I. Sometimes I wait 6 months before there is a movie that is worthy of the theater experience and I love the theater experience, microwave popcorn just isn't the same.

Sadly in the last few years most of my big screen movies have been TCM / Fathom events films. I had probably seen the original Dracula more than 100 times in my life, but seeing it on the big screen made it almost a different film.

Even though I don't think it deserves "classic" status yet, I might go check out Die Hard in November for the 30th anniversary screening.

With the exception of Mr. Plinkett's reviews of the Star Wars franchise, that was the most concise and intelligent review of a film that I've ever seen. I didn't mean to watch the entire thing, but I just watched the entire thing.
