In the next couple of weeks, I am going to have a film crew produce a :30, 1:30 and 3:00 video for a product I have been working on for the firearms industry. Its not a firearm. However, we don't need live ammunition to demonstrate the product so I was wanting to modify and existing upper to shoot semi auto suppressed. Rapid fire suppressed.
I feel I can go about this 2 ways:
1. I can modify the flash hider/suppressor mount. I thought about adding two small washers with a small hole into the flash hider before attaching to the barrel. I feel as though this would create the back pressure needed to cycle the gun and allow enough gas to go through, allowing the suppressor to sound like a normal suppressor.
2. I can modify an old barrel. I don't know how to do this other than other than grind a little slot about 1" from the gas port towards the muzzle, weld a small washer in slot.
Will any of these work? Or, how would you go about doing this?
