Long story short is that the rings do not need to be staggered at all. It has been beat to death here before. You can take it for what it is worth and spend time staggering them if you wish.

    Gas system problems

OK Guys I posted a problem with the gas system on a AR I built no big deal, If you can learn something somewhere that is a good thing right. I was at M-14 forum.com because I have some m14's good site lots of information but picky, I move to AR15.com and learned alot, but the people get Uh maybe I'll leave that aloan. Oh yes got kicked off SnipersHide.com because I posted a letter the NRA sent me and by the way I'm a Life member. It was something I guess they didn't like I think a story about Obama. I check it out before I posted it. I move here because I liked the post I've read I made it my home page. I posted this about the gas system trying to learn something, not start something, This is not the first AR I've built, nor M1A ,M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Model 700. 1903, 03A3 and can go on. I just thought that I've found a good site to be my home page and learn something now and then. I've built car engines before, not in a long time been years and you would stagger the piston ring because that is what I was told to do, It seem about the same to me so I stagger them, maybe I'm wrong don't know I will get out my manual and read about it. So this is where I am I will joke with the best of them. I can take them and put them out. Just keep them clean.
    Thanks
