The market is crazy right now, and it's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it, but that seems like a lot to me. My Arsenal as only $100 more than that. Weren't Lancasters in the $600 range before the recent craziness fired up?

I think you're right. They were somewhere in the 6 hole. With the panic and the lack of future availability of good AKs, 780 will likely seem like a deal later on.

That's entirely possible. At this point, it's really more about whether or not it's worth that price to you, individually. If you enjoy having it and enjoy shooting it, then it's worth whatever you paid (within reason). For some folks, having it now is worth the extra. For others it may be worth trying to wait it out, or hunting for a better deal. ETA: They also take the risk of winding up empty-handed.

Ask yourself, What's the biggest reasons you want it for.

Then ask yourself, why do I NOT want it?

Finally come to a conclusion as to whether it's worth the asking price or not.

Take my word for it, just buy it. With a new extreme liberal administration about to take shape it may be impossible to get AK's in the near future, and you will kick yourself in the ass for having passed it up. Happy shooting.
