My support side hand can easily reach past the muzzle of a 10.5 or 11.5" AR.
For those of you who have built or are thinking of building an SBR, what is the reason for doing it, per the form 1 question? Collectors item and investment?
Doctors orders because I can't extend my arm very far forward? I do close quarter room sweeps in my house every night before going to bed? Because it looks
fun? Is there a right answer and a wrong answer?

ALL LEAGAL PERPOSES
Collection and Investment is somewhat common.
or you could put... "I'm so short that an A2 looks like a fence post next to me!"
Because it's "patriotic".
You're supporting the Constitution and you're "donating" $200 to the US Treasury.
But most importantly, it's the one thing on a guy where being "small" is a good thing!

Except for the suppressor part, all the above applies to me. Many others added the cool factor (CDI) and that's true too. Let me add one more thing, it's because I just might piss off some liberal that I have an SBR.
I was at a gunshow right after the election. The gunshow was held next to a train (the choochoo toy kind) show and I overheard a long haired 20 something made the comment as he saw people going into and coming out of the gunshow with AR15s and AKs, "why do they need assault rifles?". If someone ask me why I need an SBR, the short answer would be, "I own one because I CAN".
I chose an SBR because it was the least expensive NFA item that I wanted, and the only one I could actually afford.
There are other reasons, some practical and some not, but that was the primary one.
