I'd rather have unprotected sex with a tranny than purchase a stripped Anderson lower.
So will your trans-attracted sex video be online for us to view?
You know, "pics or it didn't happen."
It is a funny reply and I got a kick out of it but it's rather over-the-top. Looked into Anderson a bit more last night and the most common issue I read about was the grip screw hole being drilled too shallow. Tested one of my Anderson lowers this morning and that wasn't the case. Test fit one of my other complete uppers and it seemed to fit just fine, holes lining up.
As to QC....on my M&P 15 I bought back in 2009, when I tried to put a RRA NM trigger kit in the pins holes were clearly not perpendicular with the lower's sides. Maybe that's how those are supposed to go but I doubt it. Installed the safety had no clearance as it'd bang into the trigger group. I ended up having to Dremel part of the safety bar away, just enough so it'd fit into the lower!
I assume in the mad production rush post Obama election (remember the run on surplus ammo in 2008?) that Smith and Wesson had relaxed quality control in favor of boosting production.
For what I have in my Anderson lowers.......$16.00 for one (Gunbroker auction win) and two others at like $65.00 a piece, if the builds don't go well I'll just replace.
I will hold off on having the two engraved though.....pending the lower builds and testing with the upper off my M&P.
In the meantime I'll see if Aero Precision can get out some "no small logo" lowers in consecutive numbers.
Funny but we can test it....
