    Rate these stakes

Bottom one looks weak to me but a lot of BCGs these day look like that from my experience.

I wouldn't want either for different reasons. The Microbest looks to have displaced too much material and the RCA not enough. With that much material displaced on the Microbest it puts additional side ways stress on the carrier key screws which is not good. I will say I have seen much better from RCA. The last one I got from them had four, golf ball dimples. It was so nice I sent them an email complimenting them. That one doesn't look nearly as nice or uniform. Wonder if they have different machines or if they are doing them by hand.

And neither of them look like they were done simultaneously. Staking should be done from both sides at the same time.

I am being nit picky for sure but you asked lol.

They both look fine to me. I prefer the microbest level of staking though. The other one looks like enough material pushed in to do the job

Both should work. IMO microbest is a little too heavy and rca looks a little light but enough to do the job.

The need for aggressive staking, or any staking for that matter, is far over blown.

A far more critical application. No staking, just proper torque in a friction nut. So, as long as your stake adds about 5 to 15 in-lbs of torque, you're good.

That downward staking looks good. I've had straight lateral stakes come loose on a non Colt/BCM carrier.
