    Broken Case Extractor

Any first hand experience and recommendations for a 223/556 broken case extractor?

    Those aren’t broken case extractors.

    Part number 080-000-441MB at Brownells.

    Thanks 1168

Have you by chance used the Brownells version?

Just curious because of the mixed reviews...

Confused..?? Are you asking about something to extract a broken case out of a chamber ? or an extractor on a bolt that has broken...?

EDIT... sorry just refreshed and saw your clarification

Back in the old days as a young soldier... I had a older SF guy tell me to keep a paint can opener ( thin ones w/ a hook on them) in my kit to pull out stuck cases...

Sorry, I have not. I’ve actually never used a purpose made one at all.

I have one in 308 and 223. Hit hand miss. A chamber brush really works better in some cases.

Chamber brush or even a pistol or 308 barrel brush.

Inserted from the chamber end so the bristles go past the neck of the case, then firmly pull backwards.
