If Les Baer 1911s would be OK, then CJ1911Heaven has various models in stock.

I’d highly recommend an Alchemy if they have the options you want, I love mine
Ignore the colt up top, I have an ACW prime elite and Quantico(in 9mm)

Both have been excellent and within your price range. Eli at ACW will do a great job getting you set up should you go that route and choose new. I would also suggest looking for a used ACW.

Also a Springfield professional is a great buy imo if you can get it for under 3k. I say that but I’ve had no bites on mine…I’m not sure why, a sub 3k professional is a solid deal imo. I’m not sure I’d pay the 3500 msrp, and I’d rather an ACW but finding a pistol without the wait is nice(how I got my quantico)

Plan for your 50th. Something REALLY special.
Ted Yost is one of the Top 1911 ‘smiths alive; think London “Best Grade” Side by Side quality.

That could be the case. It’s been a few yrs since I’ve had contact with, or dealings with him.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

I'll throw Guncrafter Industries in the mix. Great competitor to Wilson, Brown, and Nighthawk.

Scratch Ed Brown off your list, they got some issues going on over there.
Alchemy, NightHawk or Wilson should make you happy.

I appreciate the heads-up. That is sad to hear. I have always wanted a Brown. Maybe not now, but hopefully in the future.

I've shot several Les Baer's & they all have given me "all I held". I have owned & shot lots of 1911's. For accuracy, they can't be beaten !! I don't carry them for SELF DEFENSE, as i don't train for that with 1911's, but for fun & BARBECUE's , can't be beat!!
