Mounting muzzle device for can w/Tapered shoulder?

I'd think this would apply to all rifles with a tapered shoulder behind the muzzle threads but I happen to be referring to a Mini-14 Tactical here. (5.56)

It has a tapered shoulder, as opposed to the squared shoulder the .300 Blk model has.

Will this interfere with a suppressor mount device? I've seen rings meant to fix just this issue if it's a problem. Do they?

I'm considering a reduced back-pressure can, like the Huxwrx 556 Flow.

I use shims and they'll mash to fit the taper.

Had a Ruger scout rifle with a tapered barrel with a surefire socom. Thought everything was fine until the first shot sent the can downrange. Turns out the taper interfered with the locking mechanism, despite everything looking perfect and in-spec.

Ended up sending the rifle and can to surefire. they repaired the can and fabricated a washer to fit the taper.

tldr: markm is without a doubt an SME and much more experienced than me but it doesn't hurt to triple check...

Now I'm assuming the small radius between the shoulder and the threads is what we're talking about. I'm no expert, but like I've said, my shims have always just formed to the shape.

I just make sure to eyeball the bore/endcap for relative concentricity before firing.

I don’t know anything about Ruger rifle barrels but with Sig twenty five degree taper shoulders you basically need a taper cap ring or you need to use a mount with a matching taper.

Yes there are exceptions to the rule, but that’s the high level view.
