    9mm cleaning methods

New member and new owner of a Colt 6450 9mm carbine

Getting ready to clean the rifle prior to first shoot.

Is cleaning of this rifle much different than cleaning and lubing a standard ar15?

Are there any 9mm specifics cleaning tools I should purchase?

I typically just use CLP for my cleaning needs.

Should a bore guide be used or do they even make such a thing? Or is just using a boresnake the preferred method.

Take it easy on me, I am trying to learn as much as I can reading and really do not want to do something stupid with an expensive ( to me anyway) rifle.

    Thanks

    mike

I use the same techniques for 5.56 and 9mm. If you choose to use bore brushes, they will obviously be different sizes. I haven't personally found the 9mm to need anything different related to cleaning.

I've never seen a 9mm bore guide for an AR15, but then I've never seen a billion dollars either.

    Enjoy that new Colt.
