    TX invades an island ...

Another massive waste of effort and $ in the war on drugs, but an interesting story:

Funny how battling drugs used to be viewed as worth the cost. Now people are programmed to say fighting drugs entering the country and ruining American lives is a waste of money, while sending Billions to Ukraine is necessary.

I'm old enough to remember the DARE programs my kids participated in as well as the advertisements "This is your Brain on Drugs." - I'm fairly certain Fentanyl will eventually be proven a benefit to society.

I am begning to look at Fentanyl as "Darwin's Little Gift" to us all.
The message is clear, eventually this will kill you, like eating rat poison or drinking antifreeze, it's the end of the road, see ya!

Eating rat poison is called coumadin, used by millions after heart attacks and blood clots.

Drinking antifreeze.... well it'll kill you, but the antidote is booze, so the ER will be your most expensive bar tab ever.

There was a Liquer Store in "Run Down" area in Chicago.
The owner got sick of the pan handlers and vagrants that hung around each day. So one day he pours out a 1/2 a bottle of ripple and fills the rest with antifreeze. In three months he killed like five of these guys, by spiking wine and leaving it in the alley, drink it then stumple off and die somewhere.
Took forever to catch him, I don't really think they really ever wanted to.

I come from S.E. Arizona, I lost three friends growing up to Heroin there. The evidence is pretty clear, IV drug use will kill you. Quick or slow, but you'll die.

Mexico's Sinaloa cartel, the top exporter of fentanyl to the U.S., has banned the production and trafficking of the illegal opioid, killing several suppliers who refused to stop, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing cartel members.

The shift, handed down in June from the "Chapitos" — four of jailed Sinaloa kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán's sons — and underscored by three bodies found covered with blue pills, is reportedly in response to increasing heat from U.S. law enforcement. Fentanyl overdose deaths have risen sharply in the U.S., adding political pressure to regular drug interdiction efforts.

Funny how that happens when powerful people in the US start talking about FTO designations for cartels, classifying Fentanyl as a WMD and going weapons free on MQ9 strikes in Mexico.

And in 20-30 years we'll have the GOP arguing that "screwing preteens is outrageous but pedophilia with 14yo's is a reasonable compromise."*snort*

Seriously, if you want to divine the GOP's future positions look to Team D's past--the functional difference between the two parties is forty years in time. The scary thing is, that's also the difference between the D's and the CPUSA and its various splinters and offshoots...

Some of what I was taught in DARE was untrue, and parroted propaganda. I don’t know if it was intrinsic to the program, or just my experience with the program, but that’d explain why it isn’t all that successful.
