February 26 is "P226 Day"

Starting a fire here and folks won't admit that the US made ones by default are better guns. Pretty simple if you think about it referencing the time frame, advancements in metallurgy and manufacturing, etc. In my opinion and maybe only applied to the 22_ line of guns.

To the folks who think the gun is indestructible-I was around the "Dam Neck" area and had plenty of opportunities to shoot with some folks over the years. There was no shortage of broken P226 guns, especially with the stamped slides. When the solid ones came out, much less but they still "didn't last forever"

I don't think anyone has suggested they last forever.

I cracked a frame on a 226 after something like 25,000 rounds and had a 228 slide crack after a similar round count. They are just a dream to shoot. I think it's been pretty well established the Glocks are the indestructible handgun, the front sight might fall off earlier gens but other than that they are pretty bombproof.

Most P226 fans that I've talked to seem to prefer the stamped and folded slide version. Maybe just the allure of German manufacturing?

I think it's more of a lack of MIM parts inside.

I've love to see the return of a stamped version with the internal extractor. That's getting to be a grail status pistol at this point.
