    Find a competent refinish shop or Cerro-coat shop and have them re-blast the front and rear straps and it'll look outstanding.
    I know I should just keep my mouth shut and smile, but what fun is that?

    Glad you got it back! You have some great memories with that pistol, and even if it's a little worse for the wear, I'll bet it feels great in your hand, and shoots just as good as it did when your dad had it. Enjoy!
