Right to Bear 13.9” Pencil - gas port size

RTB has several barrels that according to internet lore are OEM’d by Ballistic Advantage.

I opened and gauged their 13.9” midlength pencil barrel today. It has a .625” gas block journal.

I started with a 0.079 pin gauge; it entered and stood freely but did not drop through. (Pic below)

The 0.078 pin dropped through. I did not grab a picture.

Note that SOLGW sizes their 13.7” midlength to .0785.

Seems like a reasonable port size. I know the BCM .076 on a 14.5 middy is a tad lean.

You shouldn't assume that to be the case anymore...

We've made a lot of changes with our barrels over the last year now.

Do they still have the lifetime warranty?

Were there problems with the BA barrels?

Thats good to hear, I never associated BA barrels with quality. To me they were on par with Spikes barrels if that company even exists anymore.

No not really. We had very few performance related issues with them. It was just time to do our own profile incorporating things we’ve been working on, and feedback we’ve had from our customers.
