***THREADS THAT ARE "FOR SALE" ADDS***

There has been some threads lately that are placed here and other sections asking questions on where to sell, how much should I ask for, etc. Do not start threads in the tech sections under the guise of asking such but appearance is you are selling it.

If you don't have access to the EE, deal with it and don't shit post to get there. Search the places such as True Gun Value or look through other sale forums and compare. If you don't know where to sell something, same thing, look and read.

Any thread will be removed without warning or explanation.

Agreed. The price fishing posts are a problem. Equally so, the deletion of the final sale price in the EE is also a problem.

I thought we used to have a rule here that the final sale price was to be left visible so as to use as a guide for pricing our items? Am I mis-remembering?

Many of the EE post are now marked SOLD, with the final sale price deleted or removed. Can we also address that?

I bet more than a few members fear government tracking their income or similar concerns.

Agreed, we will try to check that. Well, one would also say that if you had it listed at x price and sold it, you had money come in. I would say the initial price should stay, on the fence about what it actually sold for as this info is used by folks to have a guide for pricing. Some times when I sell stuff, I don't update with the actual sold depending on the offer received and if I simply want it gone and not deal with the retards.

Who cares? It actually helps everyone else.

12 guys have something listed for MSRP + 20%, so when you list yours it seems like a screaming deal.

If somebody buys something but they are too lazy to search 5 pages then they are gonna pay those prices.

Yep. The initial price and the reductions history would be welcome info to have as a starting point for pricing a similar item.

I should have replied with a more apt description.

One of the truisms of firearm sales.

All buyers know what the FFL price is and act like it's the MSRP.

All sellers know what the MSRP is and act like it's the FFL price.

For years I did an annual group buy where I sold Glocks AT COST just to maintain my stocking dealer status. The markups were literally something like $25-30 on a new Glock and people acted like they were buying a Range Rover at sticker price. God help you if they were the member of some gun club that qualified them for blue label programs, they really did expect them to be $100 below standard Glock retail.
