    Latest PD shooting getting attention

Only unedited version I could find. They fired approx 100 times at him.

Video footage a police oversight agency released shows the fatal police shooting of Dexter Reed who was allegedly pilled over by Chicago police for failing to wear a seatbelt.

It will be interesting to hear what really went down here. I don’t think that a seatbelt violation led to this response alone, and seeing as he rolled his window back up, guessing there is something else at play here we don’t know yet. CPD isn’t that trigger happy after the last few years.

Editing to say: I’ll call it a good shoot now, and while they were mag dumps, they shot until the threat was neutralized……
And yes, Chicago needs a good Burn Loot Murder spree this summer. Especially during the DNC.

He had a prior gun charge, unclear if they were aware of who they'd pulled over or not. He shot at them first, so F that guy as far as I'm concerned. 100 rnds worries me more as to where all those rnds went into the neighborhood.

Hmmmm, I guess you could need more than 10 rounds in a magazine….

Between this and the ‘acorn assualt’ cop, what is it with just mag dumping into cars with out a target?
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

As the former trainer for CPD used to refer to most police officers in expressions that can be edited down to “dumb apes,” this is no surprise.

This plain-clothes tactical team is already under investigation for seat belt violation stops.

Chicago is due for some peaceful but violent protests, rioting, and BLM shit baggery. Here’s hoping they destroy 1/2 the city and do it all through the Democratic National Convention.

Oh, and screw Chicago PD. They’re a willing enforcement arm of a totalitarian government that tramples the rights of citizens. Every single shit bag officer on the force would happily ruin all of our lives for defending ourselves or carrying a gun in their city. During COVID they trampled everyone’s rights enforcing unconstitutional lock downs.

Suspect fired 11 rounds at officers, striking one in the wrist (passenger side of the vehicle I believe). Suspect began firing out his closed passenger side window prior to any officers firing. This can be seen from the street camera view with the glass being blown out toward the officer on the passenger side. Even their civilian review board (COPA) acknowledged this. Then the suspect got out of his vehicle and supposedly appeared to crouch down while facing officers. The only videos I have seen have the suspect blurred, and I can't view the video originally posted here right now, so I'm not sure of this.

The complaints are now coming that the officers should have not fired that many rounds and that was excessive force. Calls have been made for the disbandment of special teams.

The mayor called the footage “deeply disturbing.”

“I know this footage is extremely painful and traumatic for many of our city’s residents,” he said. “It will be especially difficult for those of us living in communities where the events depicted occur all too often.

“As mayor, and as a father raising a family — including two Black boys on the West Side — I am personally devastated to see yet another young Black man lose his life during an interaction with the police.”

Johnson said he spoke to Reed’s family over the weekend. “My heart breaks for the family of Dexter Reed,” he said. “They are grieving the loss of a son, a brother and a nephew.”
