Just finished the book SOG by John Plaster. It was quite read. And right in the middle of the Hunter Killers.

Excellent book. As a kid in the 80s I grew up reading about these guys in Soldier of Fortune and things like that. It's amazing what these guys actually did and that any of them lived. Another crazy one is "Whisky Tango Foxtrot" by Lynne Black.

A very good read. My favorite first person SOG books are We Few and Whispers in the Tall Grass by Nick Brokhausen who served in CCN. His style of writing is very entertaining and the off-duty antics of the SOG soldiers are just as crazy as their missions.

A lot of those SF and MACV-SOG OGs live in the greater Fayetteville area, and some of them still work as contractors for Robin Sage. Every now and then I follow some student ODAs in Sage that have the medics I have worked with, and the stories these guys tell around the campfires.

If I survived all that shit, I'd probably want to live near the ole clubhouse too.

Does that thing actually play music? If it does not, I'll just throw in the appropriate 8-track tape.
