i have a rem. 870 express 12 guage.
im looking for a 18" barrel, brownells has one listed as a standard weight,
will this barrel work on a 870 express? thanks.

Have you gotten an answer yet? I recently replaced my 28" barrel. "870's" should have standard barrel configurations. eg. I put a 20" that was on a 870 Police Magnum. Depending on what magazine extension you use, it may need a slight/easy modification.

Edited to add: Only the magazine cap needs modification when removing and replacing the mag spring, not the barrel.

If its a remington barrel it will work as long as it is for an 870. You should not have to mod anything to get it to fit. The only barrels im aware of that had issues wher Bar-Sto barrels and that was a while ago.

Take a look at vangs 870 barrels he had bead sight barrels that had been vang comp'd for $200 but that maybe over. Its worth a try.

that was for an express, so i went with that. but thanks agian..
