    Smile Howdy from Texas!

Just wanted to say hello and thanks for accepting me to the forum. Let's see, I was born and raised in Idaho, but now live north of DFW, married, no offspring. Love to hunt, fish, camping, really anything outdoors. I'm pretty green when it comes to the AR platform, but I have a feeling I'll pick it up pretty quick & I've been reading up and learning so much.

I just purchased my first AR last Monday and I'm going to pick it up this afternoon! I know, pics will come, I'm a member of another gun forum and know the drill!

Is there a section here where local members can get together to shoot?

Lots of great info and I really look forward to being a member here.

It's new and we haven't gotten anything going yet...but as more Texans get signed up I expect we'll get it going. There are a few guys from the Dallas area already there.

Gonna try to find some ammo and get her zeroed in on Sunday (weather permitting). Any recommendations besides more money for my 2nd one?

If you can find some, Pmags are always a good start.

Gun looks good by the way.

    Welcome, fellow Texan.

My recommendation would be ammo, targets, and practice. The MEU(SOC) drills are always good, in my very humble opinion.

Maybe start saving for a good red dot optic, after you feel really comfortable with the irons?

    Thumbs up Welcome !!!

I am also in the DFW area... Frisco to be exact... Nice choice for a first carbine, that must have cost a pretty penny these days...

    Cool

I am from Texas also but not from the DFW area. I live in the Heart of the Pineywoods deep in fishing heaven.
