    AK trigger slap

OK, so I tried search but it's not working for me, so....

I picked up a SAR-2 a few days ago in 5.45, looks almost new, guy said he bought it that way and never modified it, which seems to be true.

Went to the range yesterday and found that this gun has worst trigger slap I've ever experienced. I shot a bunch of guns in my time, but never one that was actually painful in this way, my frakkin hand was going numb from the slap and vibration.

Gun shot fine except for this issue.

I'm an armorer on a bunch of guns/systems, but I know jack about AKs, so someone school me please; WTF is up with this gun?

While I'm at it, is there any decent armorer support material on AKs available?

I would replace the FCG with the G2 set made in the USA ,counts as 3 922r parts and will stop the painful trigger slap.just do a search on G2 ak FCG they run around 30 bucks .it is real easy to swap out a trigger in a AK.

EDIT: here you go seems they have gone up they also make a single hook which is what I have in my saiga AK-103

they also carry the AK armorer's dvd

Tapco G2 sets are $28 at Midway. They are still around $30 at multiple other places if you look.

Look at your current trigger to see if you have a double or single hook. If you have a single, buy a single. If you have a double, you can use either.

If you want a DIY repair, then try this http://www.novarata.net/Linx310/slapfix.htm. I did this to my SAR 2 years ago, and it is still gtg.

The Tapco G2 is a good trigger, surprisingly as it is Tapco... The U.S. made Arsenal Inc. triggers are also really nice. I have one of each.
