M&P .45 questions

I note the full-size model can be ordered with the magazine disconnect feature. Could this be retrofitted to the mid-size and compact models?

Could you list some gunsmiths that will install Warren sights?

Yes, a mag disconnect sear housing block (.45 version) will fit in any M&P45.

Any competent gun smith can install Warren sights (or any other sights on an M&P). However, be very careful that you find a competent gun smith. There are many sad tales on mp-pistol.com of folks who brought their guns to plumbers who didn't understand that some guns retain the firing pin/striker block with the rear sight. The result is lost parts, non-functioning guns, and in many cases marred slides. More than one person has reported gunsmiths charging them extra after-the-fact to compensate for the difficult installation.

Just ask if the guy has replaced rear sights on M&Ps in the past and verify he knows there is a spring loaded pin and plate living underneath the rear sight.
