Actually (aww, hell, I just did it)

The H&K claw mount UTG put out wasn't half bad. Don't know about the current iterations, but the one I grabbed some years ago was put together properly.

There's a joke here about "no that's your wife's drawer" but I'm too tired to think of the proper phrasing.

I was thinking of the weird way some older parts, like a steering wheel, etc. deteriorate on old cars.

I think you are thinking of some non standard pistol lubrication.

    Hell,
I am sure someone could rebrand sex lube and sell it as a high dollar super new pistol lube though.

    You joke . . .

A Wal-Mart in Alabama got a shipment of "Gun Oil" brand lubricant which they promentantly dispalyed in their Sportingoods department. Turns out that is a silicone based "personal lubricant" marketed towards a particular demographic that has a fondness for leather chaps and biker hats.

Actual photo of an employee removing the offending "Gun Oil" . . .

Damn...wouldn't think they'd need that much "gun" lube in 'Bama. Of all places. San Fran, sure.

    Lol....

Dang it you made me look!

Following a return from Kuwait, U.S. Marine platoon leader and founder of GUN OIL recalled soldiers using CLP liquid, that keeps firearms and other weapons clean and firing accurately, as a perfect personal lubricant when relief, better known as masturbation, was necessary to relieve stress. Knowing of CLP's long lasting properties, the founder greatly improved on this concept by changing the ingredients to a hypoallergenic, topically safe, user-friendly formula, ideally suited for heightening sexual pleasure when used for intercourse or personal use. Working closely with scientists to come up with precisely the right look and feel, this team formulated a selection of unsurpassed GUN OIL products that always deliver a highly satisfying experience and elevate the vital expression of masculine fulfillment.

    Steyr,

Could you point me to a resource to get a ballpark value on a 1910 Mauser? Via serial # it looks like it was produced between 1914-1917. It is not a slide latch. It doesn't look to banged up, 80-90% finish, grips are one piece wood, has one magazine, no holster

What makes me interested is this is a WWII brink back with the original paperwork/permit (although the paperwork has been laminated). The paperwork is made out to a PFC and signed by a 1LT from a field artillery unit, so it's not like it was a General Officer's trophy, or signed by Audie Murphy.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Well you can generally take the value of a similar condition Model 10 and then double it due to capture papers and provenance. Doesn't really matter that it wasn't captured by Pershing himself, genuine capture papers are genuine capture papers even if it was for Pvt. Nobody.

M10 values are of course all over the place depending upon condition, matching parts, caliber and the year it was manufactured. Might be worth contacting James Julia.

There are also firearm forums over at http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/ and those guys are pretty on the money.
