They don't all suck. Most of them do, but in my experience, Academy has the best prices for ammo/guns overall compared to BassPro or GM (and its not as bad as Walmart).

I should have added the asterisk: In my area.

We have some HORRID LGS around here. 45 dollars an ffl transfer. Ammo prices even less understandable. And the service is shite.

We have a gander mountain. The only time I spend time in the store is when I buy semicheap ammo online have shipped to store.

Walmart gets some of my money for ammo occasionally.

Our local options are just garbage.
