Does this qualify?
A guy I work wth was Army infantry for 8 years. He was looking over my shoulder while I was browsing the Gun Porn... er, AR15 pic thread here on m4c. He imparted these gems of wisdom:
Blue Force two points are the "worst slings ever."
Supressors (I never spell that damn word correctly) are federally banned, and everyone who has one is mil/LEO. All you guys are breaking the law.
He has an extra rail for an M4 at home, but it's a controlled item so he can't give it to me.
Rail panels are controlled, because they hide the true length of the barrel (what the ****?)
Aimpoints are terrible RDS. The Acog only costs $400 bucks, why wouldn't you just get one of those? They're terrible because "windage and elevation has to be set diagonally" Incorrectly mounted, and nobody set his shit straight?
"I have about 20 sets of those folding sights. I can't sell them to you, though, they are controlled."
This last one, I'm taking his word for it. Ive never been shot, I've never been in a firefight, and I tend to believe people who are OIF vets when they tell me what they have done. He was shot three times by an Ak from fifteen feet away, with a SAPI plate in, and it "knocked the wind out of him." Now, like I said, he could be completely truthful on this. BUT, from personal acounts that I have read, been told by .mil buddies... I assume it does a little more than knock the wind outta ya. I'm assuming here, and we all know what that leads to.
I did correct him about the suppressors, but it was turning into an argument, and I'd rather just leave well enough alone.

"Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool, or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant; If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of Honor." -Omertà
