Not overheard, but seen on a seller's site:

It's good to know they at least tried them all before making their decision.

    At gun show but..:
"this new ceramic coating makes the gun have 55% overall less recoil and 40% more reliable"

to which I interrupt immediately with : "than what? you need the subjects of comparison for percentages to mean anything."

Me: Nope, Got Glocks over there though.

Customer: Those Glocks are junk! You can't hold on to them. Now those XDs, they are the best!

    Talking

Customer to Smith: "Hey! There's something wrong with my gun! I just killed a deer and set the WHOLE WOODS on fire!"
    Smith to Customer: "HUH!?"
Customer: "Yeah! I shot a buck standing in a broomgrass field and set the whole woods on fire! I had to fight fire 30 minutes before I could pick up my deer. There's something wrong with this $%^& rifle!"
Smith: "What are you shooting in it?"
Customer: "It's in the truck. I'll get it."
Customer returns within five minutes and hands smith a hand full of .30-06 military surplus TRACER ammo bought at a garage sale for fifty cents!

One officer shot an entire 50rd COF, and a fairly large pattern, never knowing the difference except for a couple of stoppages along the way.
My brother did that ONCE...he put a couple of 9mm rounds through my .40 P229....then I looked at the ammo he was loading.....grrrrrr

" You can shoot a 9mm Makarov in any 9x19- the Russians designed it that way"

    Or

"You can shoot 5.56 out of an AK-74, I learned that in the Army"....
