Are the Paulides books worth reading? I’ve listened to him talk several times, but haven’t picked up his books. You should also consider the Vanished podcast, if missing persons interest you.

With my current work schedule I haven’t gotten to read much lately, but I did get to listen to a good performance of “Alas, Babylon” from Audible. Also “The Fold” by Peter Clines, which is worth reading if you liked “14”.

I certainly think they're worth it. He's got, what, six books now? Seven? I've got all of them.

"The Gold House" by Clarence and Whittle. It's a comprehensive three-volume write-up on the legendary treasure supposedly in Victorio Peak in New Mexico. My dad was interviewed extensively by one of the authors, so I have a dog in the fight. I'm halfway through volume one right now and it's a hard book to put down. Sadly, it's only available on Kindle now unless you want to shell out nearly $200 for an autographed copy on eBay.

Good one--IMHO, any serious 1911 owner should have both volumes on their bookshelf or bench. For a long time, mine stayed in my briefcase to be handy whenever I had a spare moment.

Right now, going through Rif Winfield et al's various "[Fill-in-the-Blank Nation] Warships in the Age of Sail" tomes--the main product line my primary client has me working on is on hiatus, but I want to make sure I have information and ideas locked-and-loaded so that when they start it up again they can have their master modeler creating new 3d models for tooling and the math-wonks converting my historical data to game stats within hours of the Go decision.

    Besides leadership-type books for work…

The Lost Regiment series book 3. Another thread caused me to look up William Forstchen’s other books, and this isn’t too bad.

    Just finished the trio:

    - Tactical Barbell I
    - Tactical Barbell II: Conditioning
    - Ageless Athlete

A lot of overlap with things I've read/done in the past, from 5/3/1 to the Maffetone Method for cardio and Pavel Tsatsouline's work. I liked that it tied it all together in one place with a program that makes sense for me. Started on phase I yesterday.
