Can you tell me the Brownells part number? I can't find it on their site anywhere.

There is no Brownells part #. I found out a long while back (I think I was wanting a Milt Sparks holster they didn't stock IIRC) that Brownells will special order from any of the manufacturer's that they stock. So this was a special order item. All you need do is use the contact us page on their website
    https://www.brownells.com/aspx/ssl/M...ctSupport.aspx
    select the purchasing department
then tell them what you're looking for in the "your message box"

I made this special order along with some other items and they were kind enough to just charge me the single shipping amount like they usually do. They also got me me Warren tactical sights with tritium front/plain rear via special order. They really are a great company.

ETA: I get the feeling Brownells is going to get some special order requests

When you get your M4-1000, Let me know if those mounts are rougher than shit on your detent spring.

The BLACKOUT mount I bought is too abusive to my spring to use with the silencer. So I have a really expensive flash hider.

The Mounts that came with my cans are much smoother and don't eat up the spring.

Wish me luck.... For what these cost, I am going to be hugely pissed if it doesn't work well with my brand new can. I will touch base with you when I get it to let you know.

From the pics, they look pretty good. The difference I've noticed in the bad mounts I've had have been that the finish looks really "parky"... real matte parkerized look to them.

Whereas the mounts that have been great have a more slick, blued like finish to them. I actually had AAC replace a bad mount for me. There was another guy who had his mount eat through the spring completely.

You'll know right away if it feels like it's grinding the shit out of the spring. The spring should get a little rubbing mark on it, but if it's tearing the shit out of it, you'll be able to tell.

Are those flash hiders hard to find or something? They are sold here:

I don't think they're hard to find. You can phone order them direct from AAC too.

I phone ordered one from Mark weeks ago and haven't received it. I haven't been able to reach him via phone or email. I just tried to call him and his voice mail box is full. Has anyone heard from him lately? I hope everything's okay, I know he had some family health issues earlier this year.
